Attracted by their brilliant young green and their anemone texture, I collected a few of these on my daily walk yesterday. They are the perfect spring addition to our Nature Museum.
What are they? How do you know? What is the evidence for that conclusion? Where would you look for more? Would these look different in a different season?
Do a little research and enter your hypothesis in the comments section!
they turn brown in the winter. they fall from trees. i think they have seeds inside.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Interesting observations, Ciera. I'm glad to see you're trying to solve our Monday mystery! How do you know they turn brown in the winter? Have you seen some like these that were brown? Can you find some of these in your own neighborhood? Do you know from which type of trees they fall? Keep thinking and observing. You may also want to check a field guide or two. Happy investigating!
